Shane Johnson

We are so proud of Watauga student Shane Johnson for his accomplishment of participating in his second Boston Marathon on April 20, 2026. He completed the marathon in 3 hours, 17 minutes, and 17 seconds, averaging 7:32 minutes/mile. 

Savannah Devine

Congratulations to Savannah Devine! Savannah is a graduate of the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, Watauga Residential College, and the CAS Corps. Devine is a Ph.D. student at the University College Dublin School of Earth Sciences, where she focuses on the use of numerical modeling to better understand the collapse of volcanic calderas and the cascade of effects those events have on earthquakes and the progression of eruptions. Read more about her research
